What does a v-belt do?
V-belts run between your front pulley and coupling. These ensure that your scooter drives forward. The v-belt “climbs” up your pulley and coupling as you speed up, and so the v-belt drives the rear pulley (and therefore your rear wheel). If your top speed starts to decline after a few thousand miles, it often means that your V-belt starts to end. A slightly longer v-belt also fits, namely 669 and 670 mm v-belts. A thickness of 18 mm is mandatory!
