But what is that gas tanker for?

“Normal” shock absorbers from YSS are great quality, but it can always be better, of course. Shock absorbers contain oil that absorbs the shocks your two-wheeler will endure. This oil is a good absorber, but in order to be able to absorb that, there is a plunger in it. This pushes and pulls the oil when you drive on a bumpy road or threshold, for example. As a result, the piston goes back and forth in the oil and against the wall of the shock absorber. This means that it also gets hot slowly and releases its heat to the oil in the shock absorber. The warmer the oil gets, the worse the oil can absorb the shocks. The gas tank ensures that a kind of “gas layer” remains under the oil. This also absorbs part of the blows and so the oil becomes a lot less hot. This keeps your shock absorber cooler when absorbing shocks. This is better for the quality and longevity of the shock absorber and for your comfort!
