The Vespa/Gilera Citta

The Vespa Citta has many names, this is due to the acquisition of Gilera in the early s. The Vespa Citta is known as Gilera Citta, Gilera ECO and Gilera EC 2, among others, produced between 1979 and 2002 by the Italian brand Piaggio, or Gilera. This small city moped was super popular in the eighties and early nineties. However, most Citta's have unfortunately died because of the stepping up and pimping. Gilera Citta is already a classic to play in immaculate condition. The Vespa Citta is equipped with a 49 cc two-stroke engine known from the Vespa SI and CIAO, so reliable. Because the Citta is driven with a belt instead of a chain, the Citta is also very quiet. 100,000 mileage is no exception!! The Gilera Citta is a potential classic. Whole generations grew up with it!

The history of Vespa.

Originally Piaggio was an aircraft builder, but because they were no longer allowed to build planes after the 2nd World War, they started focusing on scooters. At that time, many parts of aircraft were rebuilt and used to make these Vespas. Then in 1970, the Gilera brand joined the Piaggio group and 17 years later in 1987, Puch added himself to this as well. Piaggio is the brand behind Vespa. Piaggio was founded in 1946 and then started his production of Vespa directly, which is derived from the word wasp.
