What does a V-belt do?

V-belts run between your front pulley and coupling. These ensure that your scooter moves forward. The v-belt “climbs” up in your pulley and coupling as you make more revolutions and so the v-belt drives the rear pulley (and thus your rear wheel). If your top speed starts to decline after a few thousand miles, it often means that your V-belt is coming to an end. The advice is to replace the 9000 km belt.
