The washer between the crankshaft and clutch has two very important jobs to do on engines prior to the PX era:

• Provide a sliding bearing surface for the clutch pinion during clutch operation.
• Provide the proper distance of the clutch to the bearing to align the splines with the primary gear and provide the proper distance to the clutch cover

The bgm Pro washers have the same dimensions as the original Piaggio components, but are made of extremely tough but sufficiently elastic material.
