Help with selection LED lighting
What equipment does my scooter have?
All scooters (except for a classic 6v moped) are equipped with 12v lamps. There are different types of connectors. Below is the most common lamp connector in the scooter headlight:
The most common rear light is a 12v 21/5w ba15 type.
If you're unsure about the type of connector you need, please refer to our technical drawings.
What needs to be changed in the connection when installing an LED lamp?
An LED lamp consumes less power. The scooter delivers a certain power to the indicator light. If you switch from an incandescent lamp to an LED lamp, the indicator relay is disrupted. The indicators will then flash unevenly or too quickly. A resistor is the solution! (only necessary with a flashing light)
It is important that if you replace the halogen headlamp with an LED lamp, the scooter's lighting should be adjusted! As soon as you turn on the scooter, the lighting should immediately turn on (this is standard on newer scooters, and no adjustment is needed). In practice, this means that a switched plus must be created for the lamp.
LED headlights:
A headlight featuring LED daytime running lights gives your scooter a futuristic look. It is mandatory to have a white or yellow low beam light at the front of your scooter. When installing a complete bowl lamp unit, the original unit is canceled. The installation process varies depending on the scooter model. It requires time and attention to get it functioning correctly. Halogen spotlights have a lighting mode. LED headlights are not adjustable in height. This means that the field of vision may be lower than that of the original headlight. The LED daytime running lights must be connected to the switched plus. As soon as you turn on the scooter, the lighting should immediately turn on.
LED turn signals:
In the realm of "optical" modifications, LED turn signals are a very popular element. Most LED turn signals come with daytime running lights, also known as the "Audi look".
