Aprilia
The history of Aprilia goes way back in time. The company was founded in 1945, in Noale, Italy. In the beginning, small 50cc vehicles were mainly produced. Over the years, the company has continued to develop. Bigger bikes and dirt bikes were built. The great success starts in the 1970s when Aprilia starts participating in racing. They compete with the then dominant Japanese brands. From that moment on, Aprilia has become an established name and can no longer be ignored in cross and road racing. In total 54 World Championship titles were won in MotoGP, Superbike and Offroad.
Aprilia acquired by Piaggio
In 2004 Aprilia was taken over by the Piaggio group. This has only benefited the brand. The entire scooter range was equipped with extremely reliable Piaggio engines. And the improved financial situation allowed the range of motorcycles to be further developed to remain at the forefront of technology.
