Until 2018, Sym had two different types of engine blocks, the GY6 and Sym.
How can I see what type of engine block my scooter has? This is stated at the bottom of the engine block or on the sticker in the helmet box. If your scooter has the code XS1P39QMB, it is a GY6 engine block and you need a GY6 variator. If the code XS1P37QMA is listed, you have a SYM engine block.
